Easy Tiramisu Recipe for Kids
Description
This tiramisu recipe adapts the classic Italian dessert with a child-friendly chocolate twist, replacing coffee with chocolate milk for soaking ladyfinger cookies. These cookies absorb the milk briefly, keeping them soft but not soggy. The creamy filling is made of whipped mascarpone blended with powdered sugar and whipping cream until thick.
The dessert is assembled in layers of soaked ladyfingers and cream, with chocolate flakes or cocoa powder sprinkled between and on top. Chilling overnight allows the flavors to meld and the dessert to become firm enough to slice. The texture is creamy from the mascarpone mixture with soft, moist cookie layers and chocolate accents lending a mild sweetness and gentle cocoa flavor.
Serve this tiramisu chilled as a cool dessert after meals or at gatherings where a milder version of the traditional recipe is preferred. It pairs well with simple vanilla or chocolate toppings to appeal to children’s tastes.
Notes suggest not leaving tiramisu out at room temperature more than two hours and storing leftovers covered in the fridge for up to four days. It can also be frozen for up to two weeks in an airtight container and should be thawed in the refrigerator before serving.
