Easy Wonton Soup

Easy Wonton Soup combines a flavorful chicken broth infused with ginger and garlic, tender bok choy, shiitake mushrooms, and frozen mini chicken wontons. The broth simmers to develop a mild aromatic base, while the wontons and vegetables cook briefly to preserve texture and balance. A dash of soy sauce and sesame oil adds umami and nuttiness, making this comforting soup a simple, satisfying meal.

Description

Starting with low-sodium chicken broth, fresh ginger slices are gently crushed to release their aroma and simmered with garlic, creating a lightly spiced broth base. Baby bok choy is halved and simmered until just tender but still retaining freshness. Frozen mini chicken cilantro wontons are added with shiitake mushrooms and cooked until heated through and tender. The soup finishes with soy sauce for depth and sesame oil for a subtle nutty flavor.

The result is a clear, aromatic broth with delicate textures from tender bok choy and mushrooms, combined with the soft, flavorful wontons. Garnishing with sliced green scallions adds color and a mild sharpness. This soup serves well as a light lunch or starter, providing comforting flavors with minimal preparation time.
