Espresso Steak Rub Recipe

Use on any cut of steak. Makes about 4 teaspoons, which is enough to season about 1 pound of steak.

Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon instant espresso powder
- 1 teaspoon ancho chili powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon chipotle powder
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- ¼ teaspoon light brown sugar
Instructions
- Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix until well combined.
- If not using immediately, keep this spice rub in an airtight container in a cool, dark and dry place. It will keep for at least 6 months.

- Dry steak well using paper towels.
- Evenly sprinkle the dry rub onto the meat until coated on all sides.
- Grill or sear in a cast iron pan on the stovetop and finish in the oven.
