"Everything" Pigs in a Blanket

"Everything" Pigs in a Blanket wrap beef cocktail franks in strips of crescent roll dough, brushed with egg wash and sprinkled generously with everything bagel seasoning. Baked until golden, these snacks have a crispy, savory crust with the familiar flavor of bagel seasoning and juicy mini sausages inside.

Description

This recipe uses the dough from crescent rolls, cut into strips, to wrap around beef little smokies cocktail franks. After rolling tightly and sealing the dough, each wrapped sausage is brushed with beaten egg, which helps achieve a shiny crust. A generous sprinkling of everything bagel seasoning adds a savory, aromatic crust featuring poppy seeds, sesame seeds, garlic, and salt.

Baking at 375°F for about 15 minutes produces golden brown, flaky dough encasing the cocktail franks. The contrast between the crisp dough topped with the bagel seasoning and the juicy, salty sausage inside defines the texture and flavor profile. These pig-in-a-blanket bites combine convenience with enhanced seasoning for a snack with familiar yet intensified flavors.

The recipe allows using any desired variety of cocktail franks, although beef is preferred, and seasoning amounts can be adjusted according to taste. They are best served warm, fresh from the oven, for the optimal texture and flavor experience.

  3. Beat egg, and brush over the top of each crescent/cocktail frank.  Sprinkle liberally with everything bagel seasoning.
  4. Bake 15 minutes, or until golden brown.  Serve warm.

  • While beef cocktail franks are used here, any variety can be substituted based on taste.
