Frito Taco Salad

Frito Taco Salad combines seasoned ground beef with crisp iceberg lettuce, fresh tomatoes, shredded cheddar, and crunchy Frito corn chips. Dressing the salad with Catalina sauce and salsa adds a sweet and tangy contrast to the savory meat and salty chips. The mix of textures from crunchy to tender and fresh to cooked makes this salad an appealing main dish that balances protein and vegetables. Custom toppings like peppers, onions, jalapenos, and sour cream allow personal flavor adjustments.

Description

Frito Taco Salad layers lean, seasoned ground beef over a bed of chopped iceberg lettuce, enhanced by diced fresh tomatoes and shredded cheddar cheese. Key to the salad is the addition of Frito corn chips, which provide a salty crunch complementing the soft textures of the meat and veggies. Catalina dressing and salsa introduce a tangy, slightly sweet element that ties the components together. The recipe includes an option to add spicy or creamy toppings such as peppers, onions, jalapenos, or sour cream, deepening the salad's flavor profile. Prepared by cooking the beef thoroughly, seasoning it, then assembling atop the lettuce with dressing and chips, this dish is best served immediately to maintain chip crispness and freshness of ingredients.
