Frozen Layered Gelato Cake

The Frozen Layered Gelato Cake features three distinct gelato flavors—strawberry, chocolate, and stracciatella—layered and frozen together for a multi-flavored dessert. Each layer is softened before spreading in a mold, then frozen solid to form a cohesive cake with defined layers. A final topping of chocolate shell and fresh raspberries adds texture and brightness to the presentation.

Description

This dessert assembles by softening each gelato flavor individually and layering them in a bread pan lined with wax paper. Each layer is smoothed evenly and frozen before adding the next. The order of strawberry, chocolate, then stracciatella produces a balanced combination of fruity, rich cocoa, and creamy chocolate chip textures.

Once fully frozen and removed from the pan, the cake is trimmed for neat edges and topped with a chocolate ice cream topping that hardens to a shell. Fresh raspberries are added for a contrasting tartness and visual appeal. The texture is creamy yet firm from freezing, allowing precise slicing when served.

Serving requires a hot, sharp knife to cut clean slices without melting the gelato layers. This dessert remains in the freezer until ready to serve and provides a refreshing alternative to traditional ice cream cakes with distinct gelato flavors layered for variety.
