Golden Milk | Turmeric Tea

Golden Milk is a warm, spiced beverage made by blending milk of choice with turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, black pepper, sweetener, and coconut oil. This mix is heated to a comforting temperature, offering a rich, creamy drink with gentle spice and aromatics. It is suitable for those seeking a soothing, flavorful tea-like drink.

Description

The Golden Milk recipe blends 1¾ to 2 cups of milk—dairy or plant-based—with turmeric, cinnamon, ground or fresh ginger, a pinch of black pepper for better absorption, sweeteners like honey or maple syrup, and coconut oil. After blending until frothy and smooth, the mixture is gently warmed to hot but not boiling. Alternatively, a milk frother can be used for heating.

This drink features the earthy, slightly bitter flavor of turmeric balanced by sweet and warm spices, mellowed with the creamy texture of the milk and richness from coconut oil. The black pepper subtly enhances the turmeric's properties without dominating the flavor.

Golden Milk makes a cozy beverage for evenings or when seeking a calming drink. It can be prepared in advance with spice blends or made fresh, adapting to personal sweetener and milk preferences.
