Greek Olive oil and Lemon Dressing-Ladolemono

Ladolemono is a simple Greek dressing made from fresh lemon juice, extra virgin olive oil, dried oregano, and salt. This vinaigrette is whisked together and used to dress grilled fish, seafood, steamed vegetables, or salads. The dressing offers bright citrus notes balanced with herbaceous oregano and the richness of olive oil, accentuating the freshness of dishes without overwhelming them.

Description

The Greek Olive Oil and Lemon Dressing, known as Ladolemono, consists of freshly squeezed lemon juice combined with quality extra virgin olive oil and seasoned with dry oregano and sea salt. It is mixed thoroughly by whisking to emulsify the ingredients. Black pepper can be added optionally for a slight peppery note.

This dressing is versatile for enhancing the natural flavors of grilled or fresh seafood such as fish and shrimp, as well as for drizzling over steamed or grilled vegetables and leafy greens. It highlights freshness with its bright acidity and aromatic oregano notes, complementing rather than masking the main ingredient.

Practical tips include rolling the lemon on a countertop before juicing to maximize juice extraction and storing leftover dressing in a glass container refrigerated for up to one week. Shake well before use as the olive oil and lemon juice may separate. When used over freshly grilled fish, it’s best not to add additional sauces to keep the flavors pure and uncluttered.
