Greek Salad Dressing

This Greek Salad Dressing combines olive oil, red wine vinegar, garlic, and Dijon mustard with dried herbs like oregano, parsley, and basil, creating a balanced dressing with both acidity and richness. Honey adds a touch of sweetness to counterbalance the tang, resulting in a versatile and flavorful dressing ideal for salads.

Description

The dressing’s components are mixed together by shaking in a jar or blending briefly for smoothness. The olive oil provides a fruity, rich base, while red wine vinegar contributes brightness and acidity. Garlic adds pungency, and Dijon mustard helps emulsify the dressing, giving it a cohesive texture. The dried oregano, parsley, and basil introduce herbal notes characteristic of Greek cuisine. Honey softens the acidity with subtle sweetness, balancing the overall flavor.

This dressing is typically used immediately but can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week. Before serving after refrigeration, it should be brought to room temperature and shaken well as ingredients tend to separate. It complements salads featuring fresh vegetables, olives, and feta cheese well.

Choosing a good quality olive oil enhances the flavor, and seasoning to taste ensures the right balance of salt and pepper for your preference.
