Grilled Prawns
Report
Grilled Prawns served with garlic butter sauce, a fantastic recipe for the grilling season. These white prawns are super quick and easy to make and have a delicious spicy kick. Cook them in their shells to keep them juicy and tender, and you'll get the best spicy prawns / shrimp you can ask for.

Ingredients
For the prawns
- 6 shell-on white prawns
- 1 teaspoon garlic granules
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon chilli flakes
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the sauce
- 30 g butter ( 2 tbsp)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill
- 3 cloves of garlic
- ½ teaspoon chilli flakes
- ⅛ tsp black pepper
Instructions
- To make the prawns, add them to a mixing bowl together with the olive oil, paprika, chilli flakes, salt, pepper and garlic granules.
- Toss well to combine.
- Heat up the electric grill and grill them for 2 minutes ( if you use a grill pan, cook them for 2 minutes on each side).
- Remove them from the grill and set aside.
- For the sauce, add the butter to a frying pan and melt it over a medium heat.
- Add the chopped garlic and chilli flakes, and fry for 30 seconds to release their flavours.
- Add the chopped parsley and dill, season with black pepper and drizzle everything over the prawns.
Notes
- Make sure the prawns are cooked until pink, once they change their colour into pink, they are cooked. Overcooking them makes them tough and rubbery, so best to keep an eye on them, they really don't need long.
- Depending on the size of the prawns used, they will cook faster or they might need an extra minute on the grill - also, the type of grill you use will dictate the cooking time too!
