Ground Beef Pot Pie

This Ground Beef Pot Pie features a skillet-cooked mixture of browned ground beef, onions, and garlic, thickened with flour and combined with milk, beef broth, and mixed vegetables. The filling is topped with quartered canned biscuits and baked until the biscuits are golden. The dish balances a savory meat and vegetable filling with soft, fluffy biscuit topping for a comforting oven meal.

Description

The Ground Beef Pot Pie recipe starts with browning ground beef along with chopped onions and minced garlic in a skillet. Once browned, excess grease is drained to keep the dish from becoming greasy. Flour is added to create a roux base for thickening, followed by salt, pepper, milk, and low sodium beef broth to make a creamy savory filling.

Drained canned mixed vegetables are stirred in to add texture and flavor. The filling is covered with canned biscuit quarters arranged on top, with optional thyme sprinkled for added aroma. Baking at 350°F for about 20 minutes yields a golden, fluffy biscuit crust that complements the hearty filling.

This pot pie serves as a straightforward one-dish meal blending rich meat and creamy vegetables topped with a buttery biscuit crust. It’s suitable for a comforting family dinner and requires minimal active preparation.
