Gulliver's Creamed Corn

Gulliver's Creamed Corn is a rich, creamy side dish made by combining cooked corn with a butter, flour, salt, sugar, and Parmesan cheese mixture, then simmered with heavy cream until thickened. Optionally topped with crispy bacon, it balances sweet and savory flavors with a smooth texture and mild cheese notes. This preparation highlights the sweet corn's natural taste enhanced by the cheesy base and creamy sauce, making it suitable as a comforting accompaniment to main dishes.

Description

Gulliver's Creamed Corn features frozen corn cooked and then stirred into a buttery roux seasoned with salt, sugar, and Parmesan cheese. Heavy cream is added to create a creamy, thick sauce that coats the corn kernels, producing a smooth, luscious texture. Cooking is done gently to develop thickened creaminess without curdling. The optional crispy bacon topping provides a smoky, crunchy contrast to the smooth and sweet creamed corn. The dish combines dairy richness with sweet corn and subtle savory elements from the cheese and bacon.

This creamed corn serves well as a side dish alongside roast meats, poultry, or holiday meals. Its creamy texture and gentle flavor profile complement a range of main courses and provide a comforting component to a meal.
