Ingredients
- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking powder
- 1 cup Chopped hazelnuts (plus extra for topping)
- ½ cup dark chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder. Add to the wet ingredients and stir until well combined.
- Fold in the chopped hazelnuts and chocolate chips (if using).
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Sprinkle with extra hazelnuts.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool before slicing into squares.
