Homemade Salsa
Description
The recipe begins by mincing red onion and tossing it with lime juice to soften and mellow its pungency. Diced Roma tomatoes, freshly chopped cilantro, finely minced jalapeño, and garlic are added along with salt. The mixture is stirred to blend flavors evenly and seasoned to taste.
This salsa delivers fresh-tasting acidity and a moderate spicy kick, ideal for serving with chips, tacos, or grilled dishes. The preparation uses raw ingredients without cooking, maintaining vibrant vegetable flavors and crisp textures.
Variations include using tomatillos instead of tomatoes for a green salsa, or roasting tomatoes under the broiler before dicing to add a smoky flavor. These options show the recipe's adaptability to different taste preferences.
