Homemade Zesty Lemon Garlic Aioli

This homemade Lemon Aioli, made with mayonnaise, fresh lemon juice, garlic, dill, parsley, and a hint of honey mustard, is perfect way to jazz up many meals. Whether you're dipping fries or drizzling it over grilled chicken, fish, veggies, or a spread for sandwiches, this sauce is one of my household favorites!

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 lemon juiced, about 2 tablspoons
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 cloves garlic minced finely
  • ½ tablespoon dill chopped, fresh
  • ½ tablespoon parsley chopped, fresh
  • ½ teaspoon honey mustard
  • teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, add all the ingredients together and whisk to combine until smooth.
  2. Taste and adjust as needed.
  3. Use as a dipping sauce for french fries or drizzle over cooked fish, chicken, or vegetables

Notes

  • For more lemon flavor, add a little more zest.
  • To sweeten it, add a little more honey mustard. To balance the sweetness and flavors, add a little more salt as needed.
  • To thin the sauce, add in ½ teaspoon of lemon juice or water.
  • Use vegan or dairy-free mayo for vegan aioli.
  • Add 2-3 more garlic cloves if you're a garlic lover.
  • Fresh herbs are highly recommended but you can use dry herbs if you’re in a pinch. It will take less than fresh herbs so start with one teaspoon of each then taste and add more if needed.
  • Store leftovers refrigerated in an airtight container like a mason jar with lid for up to 5 days.
