How to Cook Steak In an Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 2 beef steaks 3/4" - 1" thick
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Compound Butter

  • 4 tablespoons salted butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic 
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced fresh rosemary
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Place the 2 beef steaks on a wire rack to allow airflow above and below them. Season both sides evenly with 1 teaspoon kosher salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder. Let rest at room temperature for about 2 hours.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 390-400°F (199-204°C).
  3. Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture.
  4. Place the steaks in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not touching. Cook for 6 minutes, then flip and cook for another 5-6 minutes, depending on steak thickness and desired doneness.
  5. Check for doneness with a meat thermometer:
  6. While the steaks cook, prepare the compound butter. In a small bowl, mix softened 4 tablespoons salted butter, 1 teaspoon minced garlic, 1 teaspoon minced fresh parsley, 1/2 teaspoon minced fresh rosemary, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, and 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce until well combined.
  7. Once steaks reach the desired doneness, remove from the air fryer and let rest for 10 minutes. Top with compound butter while resting.
