Instant Pot Spaghetti Squash

This Instant Pot Spaghetti Squash recipe yields tender and easily shredded squash strands resembling spaghetti. Cooking in the pressure cooker reduces the time needed to prepare the squash, resulting in a simple vegetable base for many dishes or a low-carb pasta substitute.

Description

The recipe calls for halving the spaghetti squash lengthwise and removing seeds before cooking. Placing it on a trivet inside the Instant Pot with water, it is pressure cooked on high for either 6 minutes for firmer strands or 8 minutes for softer ones, with quick pressure release. The flesh of the squash separates into spaghetti-like strands when scraped with a fork.

This method ensures evenly cooked squash with minimal hands-on time. The cooked squash pairs well with sauces, or can be served as a vegetable side. Its mild flavor and texture make it versatile for various meal options.

Cooking time should be adjusted depending on the size of the squash to ensure proper doneness. Careful cutting and handling of the squash before cooking is important due to its tough exterior.
