Instant Pot Vietnamese Iced Coffee
Description
Instant Pot Vietnamese Iced Coffee uses ground coffee beans cooked under high pressure with water to form a strong concentrate. After cooking for five minutes under pressure with a natural release, the concentrate is strained to remove grounds. The result is a bold coffee with a deep flavor base.
This concentrate is poured over ice and mixed with sweetened condensed milk, which adds sweetness and a creamy texture characteristic of traditional Vietnamese iced coffee. The balance of condensed milk can be adjusted to taste, and dark roast coffee works well for richer flavor. The cooking process takes about 90 minutes, including the pressure cook and natural pressure release.
Serve over ice in tall glasses or mason jars to replicate the classic iced coffee look. The recipe allows substitutions such as decaf coffee or different roasts depending on caffeine preference or flavor intensity. The concentrate can also be used in desserts like coffee ice cream for versatility.
When pouring the concentrate, do so gently to avoid mixing up the settled coffee grounds at the bottom of the Instant Pot insert. Finely ground beans yield a cloudier concentrate, so coarser grind can be preferable for clarity. Use fresh beans ground just before brewing for best flavor.
