Keto Parmesan Garlic Chaffles - 3 Ways

Keto Parmesan Garlic Chaffles combine mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, eggs, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder to create a low-carb waffle with a crispy exterior and tender, cheesy interior. These chaffles can be customized with various toppings or additions, offering versatility as bread substitutes or snacks.

Description

The recipe begins by whisking beaten eggs with Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and garlic powder, then folding in shredded mozzarella. Cooking in a waffle maker greases the batter into round, 4-inch chaffles that crisp up on the outside while remaining soft inside. The cheese blend provides umami and a slightly savory garlic flavor, complemented by the Italian herbs.

The chaffles can be served in multiple ways: as a base for sandwiches filled with cold cuts, lettuce, and peppers; cut into breadsticks to accompany marinara sauce; or topped with chopped tomatoes, fresh basil, olive oil, and salt as bruschetta. This adaptability makes them useful for different meals or snacks aligned with low-carb lifestyles.

Using nonstick spray ensures easy removal from the waffle maker, and cooking time can be adjusted to preference for crispier edges. Since the recipe uses only a few simple ingredients, it is straightforward to prepare with minimal equipment.

Ingredients

Servings
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 egg beaten, whole
  • ¼ cup Parmesan Cheese grated
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Turn on your Waffle Maker, (mine makes 4″ waffles) and start preparing the batter.
  2. Add in all the ingredients, except for the mozzarella cheese to a bowl and whisk. Add in the cheese and mix until well combined.
  3. Spray your waffle plates with nonstick spray (I used coconut oil) and add in half the batter to the center. Close the lid and cook for 3-5 minutes, depending on how crispy you want your Chaffles.
  4. To serve, there are a couple of options. One is to serve with a drizzle of olive oil, grated Parmesan cheese and fresh chopped parsley or basil.

Notes

  • Nonstick spray or oil helps prevent sticking in the waffle maker.
  • Adjust cooking time between 3 to 5 minutes depending on desired crispness.
  • Customize toppings for versatile meals: sandwich fillings, breadsticks with marinara, or bruschetta-style toppings.
