Korean Ground Beef Bulgogi
Description
This recipe seasons 97% lean ground beef with minced shallots, ginger paste, garlic powder, onion powder, and kosher salt, then browns it in a skillet. Coconut aminos add a mild, slightly sweet soy-like flavor, enhanced optionally with fish sauce for depth. The meat cooks until browned and tender with softened shallots mixed in.
A spicy mayo, combining mayonnaise and sriracha, provides a creamy, spicy drizzle for the assembled bowls. The base consists of chopped mixed lettuce and cooked rice, topped with the warm beef mixture, making it a balanced dish combining fresh greens, hearty meat, and bold sauce.
Adjust fish sauce use carefully as it can overpower; omit if unfamiliar or substitute with soy sauce if dietary needs allow. Rice can be omitted for low-carb preferences, and the spicy mayo can be adjusted for heat level.
