A lower calorie version of brownies made without any butter or oil and sweetened by maple syrup. Chocolate chips are mixed into the batter and sprinkled on top to add an even more chocolatey layer.

Ingredients
- ⅔ cup oat flour Just put oats in a food processor or blender
- 2⅓ tbsp cornstarch any starch should do the job
- ¼ cup cocoa powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ½ cup unsweetened applesauce
- 1 egg yolk
- ¼ cup maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3 tbsp chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325°F.
- Mix the oat flour, tapioca flour, cocoa powder, and baking soda together until no clumps remain.
- In a separate bowl, mix the vanilla, egg yolk, syrup, and apple sauce.
- Combine the wet and dry ingredients and add in ⅔ of the chocolate chips.
- Spray an 8x8 baking pan with oil and add the mixture. Top with the remaining chocolate chips and bake for 10-12 minutes.
- This recipe makes 4 servings.
