Mango Salsa

This Mango Salsa combines diced ripe mango, red bell pepper, red onion, jalapeño, chopped cilantro, lime juice, and sea salt. The salsa is fresh and vibrant with a balance of sweetness, mild heat, and citrus brightness. Preparing it ahead and allowing it to sit improves the melding of flavors, making a versatile condiment for chips, grilled meats, or fish.

Description

The topping blends ripe mango chunks with diced red bell pepper and red onion to create a mix of sweet and savory crunch. Finely diced jalapeño adds a controlled heat, which can be adjusted according to preference by using more or fewer peppers. Fresh cilantro and lime juice provide a fragrant herbal note and lively acidity, while sea salt balances the overall flavor.

The ingredients are simply combined and best when allowed to rest at least 30 minutes to let the flavors marry. The salsa can be used as a topping for tacos, grilled chicken, or seafood or enjoyed with tortilla chips. Its fresh, bright qualities make it a refreshing counterpart to rich or spicy dishes.

Store leftover salsa in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Beyond this, the mango may become mushy, so it is best consumed soon after preparation.
