Mango Sauce

A simple, sweet mango sauce made with only 4 ingredients and no need for any cooking. Choose the sweetest, ripe fresh mango and there's no need to add much sugar.

  • 300 g (1 large) Mango ripe (see NOTES) weight after the stone and skin removed, sweet, fresh
  • 1 teaspoon powdered sugar to your taste, aka icing sugar
  • ¼ tsp (pinch) vanilla powder or extract
  • 1 orange or a lime, juice

Instructions

  1. Cut the mango away from the stone, peel and cut roughly into chunks.
  2. Place in a mixer together with the sugar, orange juice and vanilla and blend until smooth. Alternatively, place in a bowl and blend using a hand mixer. Taste and add more sugar, if needed.

Notes

  • If using frozen mango, then follow the instructions below but cook gently in a saucepan to thaw for about 10 minutes - just like for this cherry sauce.
