Maple Syrup Roasted Brussels Sprouts Recipe
Description
This recipe starts with trimming and halving fresh Brussels sprouts, removing any wilted outer leaves to ensure freshness. The sprouts are tossed with olive oil, salt, and black pepper to season evenly before roasting in a single layer. The roasting process involves an initial 15-minute period, followed by stirring to expose different sides, then roasting for an additional 10 minutes to achieve even browning.
After the majority of the roasting is done, maple syrup is drizzled over the sprouts and mixed in, then they continue to roast for 8 to 10 more minutes. This final step allows the syrup to caramelize lightly, giving the sprouts a rich, sweet note that contrasts the vegetable's natural earthiness and slight bitterness.
These roasted Brussels sprouts can be served as a side dish complementing roasted meats or grain bowls, or enjoyed as a flavorful vegetable snack.
