Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 egg large
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter unsalted
  • 1 onion thinly sliced, medium
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined.
  2. Form the mixture into 1 1/2-inch meatballs.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove meatballs and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté the sliced onion until translucent.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the onions and cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  6. Gradually add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring continuously until the gravy thickens.
  7. Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes or until meatballs are cooked through.
