Old Fashioned Goulash

Old Fashioned Goulash combines ground beef, elbow macaroni, and a tomato-based sauce enriched with onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning. The sauce simmers to meld flavors before blending with pasta for a comforting, savory casserole-style dish.

Description

Old Fashioned Goulash begins by cooking elbow macaroni slightly under usual time to keep it firm. Ground beef is browned with diced onion and minced garlic until fully cooked. Worcestershire sauce, tomato sauce, and diced tomatoes are added to create a rich, flavorful base that simmers to develop depth.

The cooked pasta is folded into the sauce mixture along with salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning, enhancing herbal notes. Combining the components off the heat allows the pasta to finish cooking while absorbing the sauce flavors. The dish offers a balance of tender pasta with hearty beef and a bright tomato sauce lightly seasoned.
