Orange Banana Smoothie

The Orange Banana Smoothie blends frozen banana, peeled navel orange, vanilla protein powder, and dairy-free milk into a creamy, fruity drink. The protein powder adds texture and nutrition while optional ice adjusts the consistency for a refreshing beverage. This smoothie highlights citrus and sweet banana flavors with a smooth, easy-to-drink texture.

Description

The smoothie combines chunks of frozen banana with peeled and segmented navel orange to provide natural sweetness and citrus brightness. Vanilla or natural protein powder adds a mild flavor and boosts the protein content. Unsweetened almond or coconut milk is used as the liquid base, with the amount adjusted to reach desired thickness.

Blending these ingredients in a high-powered blender until smooth yields a creamy consistency. Additional milk can be added to thin it if too thick. Ice is optional for a colder, slushy texture. The use of frozen banana helps create a thick and chilled drink without needing ice initially.

Depending on preferences, chia seeds or toasted coconut flakes can be optionally blended in to supply healthy fats and texture. The smoothie works well as a quick breakfast or snack with natural fruit sweetness and a protein boost.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 banana chopped into chunks, frozen
  • 1 navel orange peeled and segmented
  • 1 coop protein powder I used Nuzest, vanilla or natural
  • 1/2 -1 cup milk (I like unsweetened almond or coconut milk)
  • handful of ice (optional)

Instructions

  1. Blend: Add banana, orange, vanilla protein powder, and milk (starting with 1/2 cup milk) into a high powered blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Taste: You can add more milk into the blender if the smoothie seems too thick. You can also add ice if you want the texture to be more slushy.
  3. Serve: Once the consistency is perfect, pour into a glass and enjoy.

Notes

  • Optional add-ins include 1 teaspoon chia seeds and/or 1 tablespoon coconut flakes for healthy fats and texture.
  • Protein powder can be omitted if preferred, keeping the smoothie simpler.
