Pear Brie Flatbread
Description
Pear Brie Flatbread starts with naan bread as a base, brushed with olive oil for a slight crispness from the oven baking at 400°F. Thinly sliced pears and sliced brie are layered evenly, crowned with fresh rosemary for a fragrant herbal note. Once baked until the brie melts, honey is drizzled on top to lend a gentle sweetness that complements the earthy rosemary and juicy pear slices. Salt and pepper are added at the end to enhance the flavors.
The result is a combination of soft, warm bread and creamy melted cheese contrasted by the smooth, juicy texture of the pears. The rosemary adds aromatic complexity, and the honey ties all the flavors together into a balanced flatbread that is both flavorful and approachable.
This flatbread can be served immediately, sliced into pieces perfect for sharing. It pairs nicely with simple salads or as a starter for a larger meal.
Naan or pita bread can be used interchangeably for the base. Cutting into smaller pieces encourages sharing as an appetizer, but larger portions are suitable for a light meal.
Ingredients
- 2 Naan flatbread
- olive oil for brushing
- 8 oz Brie cheese rind removed and sliced
- 2 pear thinly sliced, medium
- 1 teaspoon rosemary chopped, fresh
- 1-2 tablespoons honey
- salt to taste, Kosher salt
- black pepper to taste, Kosher salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Place the flatbread on a large baking sheet. If they don’t fit on one, you can use two baking sheets. Brush lightly with olive oil. Top evenly with brie, sliced pears, and rosemary.
- Place in the oven and bake for 7-10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Remove from the oven and drizzle the flatbreads with honey. Season with a little salt and pepper.
- Cut the flatbread into pieces and serve immediately.
Notes
- Both naan flatbread and pita bread work well as the base.
- This recipe yields about 8 appetizer-sized servings but can also serve as a light meal.
