Peri-peri chicken livers

This Peri-peri chicken livers recipe features seared livers cooked with garlic and peri-peri sauce, finished with lemon juice and cream for a rich and spicy dish. The butter frying method creates a golden sear while the peri-peri sauce adds a vibrant, piquant flavor. The addition of cream mellows the heat slightly, producing a smooth, luscious sauce that coats the tender chicken livers. Served with crusty bread, it offers a rustic and satisfying appetizer or meal component.

Description

Starting with butter melted in a very hot skillet, chicken livers are cooked until golden on both sides, developing a crisp exterior while remaining tender inside. Crushed garlic and peri-peri sauce are then added to infuse the pan with aromatic and spicy notes. A splash of fresh lemon juice adds brightness, and cream is stirred in to create a silky sauce. Seasoned with salt and black pepper, the dish simmers briefly to combine flavors. The dish is naturally rich from the liver and cream, balanced by the acidity and heat from lemon and peri-peri.

Serving with crusty bread allows soaking up the sauce and complements the robust flavors. This dish works well as a starter or a modest main when paired with simple sides.
