Pink Lemonade Vodka Slush

Pink Lemonade Vodka Slush is a chilled cocktail made by blending pink lemonade concentrate, vodka, and citrus soda, then freezing the mixture to create a fruity, icy drink with a balance of tartness and sparkle. It's prepped ahead for convenient serving during gatherings.

Description

This recipe combines thawed pink lemonade concentrate with vodka and a bubbly citrus soda to create a slushy cocktail base that freezes in a large container. After chilling for several hours or longer, the slush develops a partially frozen texture that is easy to scoop and serve.

Serving involves scooping the slush into glasses and topping with additional soda as desired. The cooling effect and fizzy citrus flavor make this a refreshing adult beverage suitable for warm weather or social events.

Variations include substituting regular lemonade concentrate for a lighter color or using other spirits like rum or tequila instead of vodka, adjusting the flavor profile while maintaining the slush format.

The recipe can be made well in advance and stored in the freezer for up to one month, ideal for planning parties or batch preparations.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 (12 ounce) can pink lemonade concentrate thawed (see note 1, frozen
  • 2 cups vodka
  • 1 (2 liter) bottle citrus soda (see note 2)

Instructions

  1. In an empty one-gallon ice cream pail, combine lemonade concentrate, vodka, and 2 liter bottle of soda. Chill at least 8 hours, overnight, or up to a month in advance.
  2. Remove from freezer 1 - 2 hours before serving. As the slush melts, it will become easier to scrape and serve.
  3. To serve, add 1 cup slush to a glass (a ladle works well). Top with additional soda as desired.

Notes

  • Frozen pink lemonade concentrate can be swapped with regular lemonade concentrate for a different color but similar flavor.
  • Recommended citrus sodas include Canfield's 50/50, Squirt, Sprite, or Fresca; diet versions are also acceptable.
  • This recipe yields about 12 cups of slush, with servings consisting of 1 cup slush plus additional soda to taste.
  • Store the slush in a freezer-safe, airtight container for up to a month.
  • Prepare ahead by mixing and freezing up to one month prior to serving.
  • If vodka is not preferred, substitute with rum or tequila in equal amounts for a variation.
