Raspberry Apple Jello Salad

Raspberry Apple Jello Salad mixes raspberry gelatin with boiling water, frozen raspberries, and natural applesauce to create a fruity, gelled side dish or dessert. The combination yields a bubbly, slightly sweet chilled salad with fruit pieces suspended in the jello. This no-bake, refrigerator-set recipe is convenient for make-ahead meals or light refreshments.

Description

The Raspberry Apple Jello Salad begins by dissolving raspberry gelatin dessert in boiling water until fully combined. Frozen raspberries are then stirred in, adding a burst of flavor and texture distinct from the smooth gelatin. Finally, natural unsweetened applesauce is folded in to add body and mild sweetness, balancing the tartness of the raspberries and gelatin.

This salad is refrigerated for several hours to set firmly, resulting in a brightly colored, fruity gel with soft fruit pieces distributed throughout. It can be served chilled as a light dessert, side dish, or nostalgic addition to meals.

The recipe accommodates variations in sugar content by using regular or unsweetened gelatin mix, and the applesauce and frozen fruit can be adjusted to taste. Nutritional information noted corresponds to sugar-free gelatin.
