Salmon Teriyaki

Salmon Teriyaki features a pan-seared fillet glazed with a homemade teriyaki sauce made from soy sauce, mirin, and sugar. The salmon is cooked skin-side down until crispy, then covered to finish cooking through, resulting in a tender interior with a flavorful glaze. Sesame seeds are sprinkled on top for a nutty garnish, providing a simple and tasty main dish suitable for serving with steamed rice.

Description

Salmon Teriyaki combines a fresh salmon fillet with a slightly sweet and savory teriyaki sauce prepared from soy sauce, mirin, and sugar reduced to a glaze. The cooking method involves pan-searing the salmon skin-side down to create a crispy texture before covering the pan to gently cook the fish through. The sauce is then drizzled over the cooked salmon, enhancing its natural flavor, and garnished with white and black sesame seeds that add both visual contrast and subtle nuttiness.

The flavor profile balances the rich, mild taste of salmon with the tangy-sweet teriyaki glaze. This dish brings together crisp skin texture and moist, flaky flesh. It pairs naturally with steamed rice, making for a well-rounded meal with a blend of textures and flavors.

Serving immediately after drizzling the sauce ensures the salmon retains its crisp edge and stays moist inside. The sesame seeds add a decorative finish and a slight crunch that complements the smooth sauce and tender fish. This salmon recipe offers a straightforward approach to a classic Asian-inspired dish that highlights the salmon's flavor enhanced by the homemade teriyaki sauce.
