Skinny Piña Colada

The Skinny Piña Colada offers two refreshing versions of this tropical cocktail: on the rocks and frozen. Both use pineapple, coconut water, and coconut-flavored rum for a light, fruity base. The on the rocks variation includes pineapple chunks blended with rum and coconut water served over ice with an optional splash of coconut sparkling water, while the frozen version incorporates banana and ice for a creamy, chilled texture. These variations provide a lighter take on the classic Piña Colada, highlighting natural tropical flavors with less heaviness.

Description

Skinny Piña Colada features pineapple and coconut water as the main ingredients paired with coconut-flavored rum to create a tropical drink that balances sweetness and freshness. The recipe splits into two approaches: one served over ice with a splash of coconut sparkling water, enhancing the coconut aroma without adding heaviness; the other blended with frozen banana and ice for a thicker, colder beverage. The use of coconut water instead of cream or sugary mixers reduces calories and heaviness, making the cocktail feel more hydrating and light. Blending frozen fruit also contributes to a smooth texture in the frozen version.

The flavors meld around pineapple's bright tartness and the subtle sweetness of banana in the frozen blend, while the coconut rum ties the tropical theme together. Both styles of serving keep the drink cool and refreshing, suitable for warm days or casual gatherings.

This recipe is straightforward and requires only blending the ingredients. The choice between on the rocks or frozen allows flexibility depending on your preference for texture and temperature.
