Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken & Broccoli
Description
Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken & Broccoli focuses on chicken breasts cooked low and slow in a mixture of teriyaki sauce enriched with sriracha for subtle heat. The chicken is shredded inside the slow cooker to absorb the sauce thoroughly. Fresh broccoli florets are added partway through cooking to retain some firmness. The final dish is garnished with sliced scallions and toasted sesame seeds, adding freshness and nuttiness. This recipe yields a dish with tender, juicy chicken and crisp broccoli coated in a glossy, moderately spiced teriyaki sauce.
The gentle slow cooking process allows the flavors to meld while keeping the chicken juicy, and the staggered addition of broccoli prevents overcooking. The sriracha balances the sweetness of the teriyaki sauce, giving the dish a mild kick.
Serve the chicken and broccoli over steamed rice or your preferred side to absorb the flavorful sauce. The garnishes contribute additional texture and flavor contrast, enhancing the overall meal experience.
Ingredients
- 2.5 lbs. chicken breast about 3 large chicken breasts, boneless, skinless
- 1.5 cup teriyaki sauce divided
- 1 tablespoon sriracha
- 8 ounces broccoli about 3 1/2 cups, florets
- scallions garnish, sliced
- sesame seeds garnish, toasted
Instructions

- Cook the chicken in the teriyaki sauce on low for 3 hours, then shred the chicken into large chunks with two forks. Add the broccoli and if needed, 1/2 cup of additional teriyaki sauce. Stir to combine. Put lid back on slow cooker and continue cooking on low for another 45 minutes to an hour, or until a meat thermometer reads the internal temperature of the chicken to be 165°
- Garnish the teriyaki chicken & broccoli with sliced scallions and toasted sesame seeds and serve over your rice or your favorite side. Enjoy!
