Spiced Persimmon Smoothie

This Spiced Persimmon Smoothie blends ripe Fuyu persimmons with frozen banana and almond milk, accented by warm spices like ginger, cinnamon, and cloves. The smoothie offers a naturally sweet and creamy texture with an aromatic, mildly spicy undertone. It's a refreshing and nutritious drink showcasing ripe persimmons’ seasonal flavor.

Description

The Spiced Persimmon Smoothie features ripe Fuyu persimmons, which are peeled and blended together with frozen banana and almond milk to create a creamy base. The warm spice blend of ginger, cinnamon, and ground cloves introduces gentle heat and aromatic depth that complements the natural sweetness of the fruit without overpowering it.

This smoothie’s smooth texture and balanced flavors make it a wholesome option for breakfast or a snack. The recipe’s use of frozen banana helps to thicken the drink and add natural creaminess, while the almond milk lends a subtle nutty flavor.

Purchasing persimmons slightly underripe and allowing them to ripen at room temperature enhances their sweetness and softness prior to blending. Serving garnished with a thin persimmon slice enhances presentation.
