Spicy Ranch Fire Crackers Recipe
Description
This recipe infuses mini saltine crackers with a spiced ranch seasoning mixed in avocado oil, including red pepper flakes and cayenne for heat, garlic powder for sharpness, and dill for herbal notes. The crackers soak briefly in the mixture to absorb flavor before baking at a low temperature to toast them lightly and crisp their texture without burning.
The seasoning blend adheres to the crackers, giving each bite a balanced kick of spice and ranch flavor. The slow baking allows the crackers to dry and become crunchy yet retain a light texture. Once cooled, the crackers maintain their crispness and are convenient for snacking or party trays.
Store these crackers in an airtight container at room temperature to keep them fresh for about a week. The recipe yields approximately 21 servings, making it suitable for gatherings or regular snack cravings. A no-bake option is available by massaging the seasoning onto the crackers and letting them sit, forgoing the oven time.
Ingredients
- 11 oz saltine crackers mini size
- ½ cup avocado oil
- 2 TBSP ranch dip seasoning blend
- 1 TBSP red pepper flakes crushed
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp dill fresh works too!, dried
- ⅛ tsp cayenne pepper or extra, to taste
Instructions
- Whisk together oil, ranch seaoning blend (the kind they make for dips - I used Hidden Valley), red pepper flakes, garlic powder, dill, and cayenne.
- Add mini salines to an easy-seal plastic bag and mix well, gently massaging the seasoning blend into the crackers.
- Preheat oven to 250°F and allow crackers to soak in mixture while you wait. (I gave mine about 10 minutes)
- Spread crackers out over a parchement paper or foil lined baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes or until lightly toasted.
- Allow crackers to cool and dive in! They stay crispy for about a week. Simply store in an airtight container at room temperatue. Enjoy!
Notes
- The crackers remain crispy for about one week when stored airtight at room temperature.
- A no-bake alternative is to coat the crackers with the seasoning and oil mix and let them sit for 30-60 minutes, massaging occasionally to distribute flavors.
- This recipe makes roughly 21 servings, approximately 17 crackers each.
