Spinach Artichoke Dip

This Spinach Artichoke Dip blends cream cheese, sour cream, garlic, artichoke hearts, and spinach into a rich, creamy mixture baked until bubbly and golden. Swiss and Parmesan cheeses add depth and sharpness to the smooth texture. The dip develops a savory garlic flavor balanced by the mild bitterness of spinach and the tender artichoke pieces. It’s served warm, making it ideal for dipping with chips or bread.

Description

Spinach Artichoke Dip combines cream cheese and sour cream as its creamy base, providing a smooth texture that carries the flavors of garlic, artichoke hearts, and spinach. The artichoke hearts are roughly chopped to maintain texture, while the spinach is well-drained to avoid excess moisture. Swiss and Parmesan cheeses contribute a nutty, sharp flavor that enriches the dip.

The dip is baked at 400°F until it becomes bubbly and lightly browned, developing a creamy and cohesive texture. The garlic infused through the mixture offers a pungent background flavor without being overpowering. The finished dip is thick enough to hold onto chips or bread.

This recipe can also be adapted for slow cooker preparation, where the ingredients warm evenly over two hours, melting together into a creamy dip that stays warm for serving at parties or gatherings.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 8 ounces cream cheese , at room temperature
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 2 cloves garlic , minced or pressed
  • 1 ounce artichoke hearts about 1 ½ cups, drained and roughly chopped, canned in water
  • 8 ounces spinach about ¾ cup, defrosted and all the water squeezed from the spinach, frozen, chopped
  • 1 cup swiss cheese shredded
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese grated
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the cream cheese with the sour cream until smooth. Fold in the garlic, artichoke hearts, chopped spinach, Swiss cheese, Parmesan cheese, and kosher salt. Scrape into a 1-qt baking dish and bake for 30 minutes or until bubbly and cooked through.
  3. Serve hot with Kettle Brand Potato Chips for maximum dipping pleasure.

Notes

  • For a slow cooker version, mix ingredients as directed, then cook on high for 2 hours until warmed through and melty.
  • Drain and squeeze frozen spinach well to remove excess water for a thicker dip.
  • Serve immediately after baking to maintain creamy texture.
