Starbucks Banana Bread
Description
Starbucks Banana Bread is a sweet loaf made by creaming margarine with sugar, then adding mashed bananas, eggs, and milk. Flour, containing baking powder and baking soda, is folded in alongside pecans to create a tender crumb. The batter is poured into a greased loaf pan and topped with chopped walnuts for extra texture.
Baking at 350°F for just under an hour creates a golden crust while maintaining moistness inside. The nuts add a gentle crunch contrasting the soft banana-infused bread.
This bread works well sliced for breakfast or as a snack throughout the day. The combination of bananas and nuts gives it a satisfying flavor typical of quick breads without any frosting or glaze.
Ingredients
- 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup margarine or butter
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 1 cup banana mashed ripe
- 2 egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 cup pecans chopped
- 1/2 cup walnuts chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease an 8x4-inch loaf pan.
- In a medium-sized bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
- In another medium-sized bowl, use a mixer to cream together the margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the mashed bananas, eggs, and milk and mix well.
- Add half of the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until the flour is just incorporated. Then, add the remaining flour and the chopped pecans, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and top with the chopped walnuts. Bake for 55 to 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
