Strawberry Salsa Recipe
Description
The Strawberry Salsa Recipe mixes hulled and chopped strawberries with minced red onion and jalapeño pepper, balancing natural sweetness and heat. Lime juice and a drizzle of avocado or olive oil bring acidity and richness, while chopped fresh cilantro adds herbal brightness. Seasoned lightly with salt and optional black pepper, the salsa vibrates with fresh, fruity, and slightly spicy notes.
The texture combines juicy and tender strawberry pieces with crunchy onion and the gentle crunch of jalapeño, yielding a lively and colorful mix. Stirring the ingredients together merges flavors without overwhelming the individual tastes. Optional additions like pineapple or mango can add even more depth and tropical sweetness.
This salsa works well as a snack with chips, a topping for tacos, a fresh salad addition, or as a complement to grilled meats or seafood. Adjusting the amount of jalapeño allows control over the heat level to suit preferences.
Ingredients
- 1 pint strawberries ripe
- 1 jalapeno pepper
- ¼ cup red onion minced
- lime juice of 1
- 1-2 tsp avocado oil or olive oil
- ¼ cup cilantro plus extra to taste, fresh, chopped
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Hull and chop strawberries and combine with minced onion.
- Remove stem, seeds, and ribs from jalapeño, mince, then add to your berries.

- Lastly stir in a pinch of salt (adjust to taste) and a little black pepper (optional) and toss it all together.
- Serve over your choice protein, salad, tacos, or dive in with chips as a snack! This salsa is a bit legendary with cinnamon sugar pita chips. You can even add chopped pineapple or mango to the salsa if you have some on hand – it’s amazing!
Notes
- The recipe can be easily doubled or tripled for larger gatherings.
- Sweeter strawberries reduce the need for added sweeteners, but honey or maple syrup can be added if desired.
- Keeps well in the refrigerator for a day or two; consume while fresh for best flavor and texture.
- Adding additional fruit such as pineapple or mango enhances the salsa’s natural sweetness and texture variety.
