Sweet and Sour Kielbasa

Sweet and Sour Kielbasa is a delicious recipe that combines sweet peppers with tart pineapple to create a flavor explosion. It’s baked to perfection in the oven with minimal prep time.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz kielbasa sausage sliced, packages
  • 1 red onion chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper chopped
  • 20 ounce pineapple chunks drained, can
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
  2. To a large mixing bowl combine your ketchup, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce.
  3. To the bowl add the kielbasa, onion, red bell pepper, green bell pepper and pineapple chunks.
  4. Stir everything to combine.
  5. Add everything to a 9x13 baking dish.
  6. Bake at 400 degrees for 45 minutes, stirring once or twice. 
  7. You want to cook the sausage until it gets nice and glazy and caramelized.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • This makes a great dinner over a bed of rice.
  • You can use your favorite sausage for this, andouille would be great or even turkey smoked sausage. 
  • You can use honey instead of brown sugar if you like.
