Tahini Sauce Recipe

This Tahini Sauce blends sesame tahini with garlic, lemon juice, ground cumin, and sea salt to create a creamy, tangy condiment. The addition of water thins the sauce to a smooth consistency, making it versatile for drizzling or dipping. Its balance of nuttiness and bright citrus notes makes it a practical choice for salads, roasted vegetables, or grilled meats.

Description

The Tahini Sauce Recipe combines ¾ cup of tahini with finely minced garlic cloves and the juice of two lemons for a bright and savory base. Ground cumin adds a subtle earthiness, while sea salt adjusts seasoning to taste. Slowly whisking in 1/3 cup water helps achieve a thinner, pourable texture that can be adjusted based on preference. The sauce is kept cool until serving to maintain freshness and flavor.

The sauce’s flavor is creamy and mildly nutty, with a fresh lemon tang and gentle garlic warmth balanced by cumin's aromatic depth. It offers a smooth consistency suited for salads, grilled dishes, or as a dip component.

Adjusting water amount allows control over thickness, tailoring it for spreading or drizzling. Using either raw or toasted tahini will subtly influence flavor intensity, and straining can create a uniform sauce without garlic bits. Store properly covered in the refrigerator for up to 10 days, but it’s not suitable for freezing.
