The Best Frozen Lemon Drop Martini (Slush) You'll Ever Have (a Margarita-style Icy Lemon Drop!)

This Frozen Lemon Drop Martini is a tart and icy cocktail made by blending vodka, fresh lemon juice, sugar, and ice until slushy. The glass is rimmed with lemon and sugar for a sweet citrus touch that contrasts the sharpness of lemon and vodka. It's a refreshing, chilled drink with a texture between a slushie and a classic martini.

Description

The recipe starts by rubbing the rim of a martini glass with fresh lemon juice and dipping it in sugar to create a sweet, tangy edge. The cocktail itself is made by blending ice cubes with vodka, fresh Meyer lemon juice, and fine sugar until the ice becomes a smooth slush, balancing the strong citrus flavor with sweetness and cold texture. This preparation mimics the style of a margarita slush but with a lemon drop twist.

Served chilled in a sugar-rimmed glass and garnished with lemon slices, this drink is ideal for warm weather or anytime a refreshing, tart cocktail is desired. Using Meyer lemons adds a sweeter, less acidic character than standard lemons but fresh lemon juice in general gives the cocktail its bright citrus profile.

This frozen cocktail is simple to prepare and can be adjusted by varying the sugar amount or lemon juice to taste. It pairs well with light appetizers or as a palate cleanser between courses. The original unfrozen lemon drop cocktail is also easy to make if a slushy texture is not preferred.
