Vitamin C Smoothie
Description
The Vitamin C Smoothie combines grapefruit juice, either freshly juiced or bottled, with frozen banana slices, pineapple chunks, kale, and hemp seeds. The ingredients blend together into a smooth, creamy texture with a balance of citrus tang from grapefruit, tropical sweetness from pineapple, and the earthiness of kale and hemp seeds. Using frozen banana helps thicken the smoothie and adds natural creaminess without dairy. The hemp seeds contribute a mild nutty flavor and nutritional value.
This smoothie serves as a nutrient-dense drink suitable for breakfast, a snack, or a light refreshment providing vitamin C from citrus and antioxidants from greens.
Ingredients
- ⅔ cup grapefruit juice fresh, or 1 grapefruit
- 1 banana frozen
- 1 cup pineapple chopped into chunks
- 1 cup kale or curly kale, baby
- 1 Tablespoon hemp seed
Instructions
- Press 1 grapefruit through a juicer for fresh grapefruit juice. If you don’t have a juicer, you can use bottled grapefruit juice or simply add 1 whole peeled grapefruit to a high-powered blender.
- Add frozen banana slices, pineapple, kale and hemp seeds into the blender with the grapefruit. Blend on high until mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy!
