Waldorf Salad Recipe with Fresh Crunchy Apples Over Bib Lettuce
Description
The Waldorf Salad combines diced fresh apples—cored and chopped from multiple red varieties—with sliced celery, seedless grapes cut in half, and toasted chopped walnuts, all coated in a mayonnaise dressing seasoned with fresh lemon juice, salt, and ground black pepper. The salad is gently folded to preserve fruit integrity and chilled for about half an hour to meld flavors before serving.
This salad balances creamy dressing with crisp fruits and nuts, providing a variety of textures and a sweet-tart profile from the apples and lemon. The use of bib lettuce leaves as a base adds a fresh, crisp element and makes for an attractive presentation.
Ideal as a side salad for lunches or dinners, this dish offers a classic taste with simple ingredients. The chilling step enhances flavor integration without overwhelming the freshness of the components.
