White Bread

Classic White Bread made from yeast-leavened dough offers a soft crumb and golden crust. This recipe blends warm water, active dry yeast, butter, vegetable oil, sugar, and bread flour, requiring two rises and baking in loaf pans to produce tender, fluffy loaves suitable for sandwiches or toast.

Description

This White Bread recipe begins by combining warm water with active dry yeast, kosher salt, melted unsalted butter, vegetable oil, sugar, and part of the bread flour. The mixture rests until doubled in size to develop gluten and activate yeast. Additional flour is incorporated followed by kneading with a dough hook until smooth. The dough is then covered and allowed to rise again until doubled.

After the second rise, the dough is divided into three portions, shaped, and placed into loaf pans for a final rise. Baking occurs at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35 to 40 minutes until golden and fully baked. The bread yields three loaves with a tender crust and a soft, moist interior, ideal for everyday use like sandwiches, toast, or alongside meals.

The recipe includes clickable times in the instructions for timing purposes. This bread requires patience due to the multiple risings but results in a versatile homemade loaf.
