White Christmas Sangria

This White Christmas Sangria combines white wine with sparkling apple cider, fresh cranberries, sliced green apple and pear, enhanced with rosemary and star anise for aromatic complexity. Chilling the mixture allows flavors to meld, resulting in a festive, fruity drink with a light effervescence from the cider. It’s refreshing and appropriate for holiday gatherings or casual entertaining.

Description

The White Christmas Sangria uses a bottle of white wine mixed with sparkling apple cider to introduce sweetness and bubbles. Fresh cranberries, thinly sliced green apple, and pear slices add brightness and subtle fruit flavors. Sprigs of rosemary and star anise garnish the glasses, lending aromatic herbal and spiced notes that evoke holiday scents. The sangria is refrigerated for several hours or overnight to infuse the flavors.

Serving over ice keeps the sangria chilled and refreshing, while topping off with more sparkling cider adds a lively fizz. This drink balances sweetness from the cider and fruit with the clean character of the wine and aromatic garnishes.

The recipe suggests no additional sweetener is needed since sparkling cider is typically sweetened, but honey or maple syrup can be added to taste if a sweeter profile is desired.
