White Wine Sangria
Description
White Wine Sangria is a chilled drink featuring sliced citrus (lime and lemon), diced green apple, peach slices, and berries mixed with a dry white wine such as Albariño and brandy or Grand Marnier for a hint of warmth and complexity. The fruits infuse the wine with fresh, bright flavors over chilling time.
The mixture is sweetened to taste with maple syrup, agave, simple syrup, or sugar, allowing customization of the level of sweetness. The sangria is refrigerated for at least one to four hours or preferably overnight to fully develop its fruit-infused character.
Serving suggestions include pouring the sangria over ice or frozen berries and topping with sparkling water for a light fizzy finish. Fresh strawberries and mint can be added as garnishes for extra aroma and visual appeal. Leftover sangria stores well in the refrigerator for up to five days, maintaining flavor and freshness.
The recipe notes recommend various white wines including Albariño, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, and Chardonnay as suitable bases, highlighting Albariño for its dry and crisp qualities.
