Winter Fruit Salad
Description
Winter Fruit Salad brings together a selection of fruits typical to colder seasons, including cubed pineapple, sliced peeled kiwi, mandarin orange segments, and pomegranate arils. These fruits provide contrasting textures from juicy citrus to soft kiwi and crisp pomegranate seeds. The salad is dressed with a mixture of lemon juice, honey, and poppy seeds which adds a gentle sweetness, acidity, and a mild nutty crunch.
The preparation involves gently tossing the fruit with the dressing to ensure even coating without damaging the delicate components. This keeps the salad fresh and visually appealing. Optional garnishing with fresh mint leaves can introduce a refreshing herbal note.
This salad is well suited as a simple, healthy dessert or a palate-cleansing side dish in meals served during winter when fresh fruits are less common. The bright dressing complements the natural sweetness of the fruit without overpowering it.
