3-Ingredient Mango Sorbet (No-Churn!)
Description
The 3-Ingredient Mango Sorbet uses just frozen mango pieces blended with maple syrup and lime juice. The mango is first pulsed into small shreds before adding the other ingredients, then processed until very smooth with minimal chunks. The lime juice adds a bright citrus note that balances the sweetness of the mango and maple syrup. Since there's no churn, the blending step ensures a creamy texture.
The sorbet is ready to eat immediately with a soft consistency, or it can be transferred to a sealed container and frozen for 2-3 hours to firm up into scoopable consistency. When stored frozen longer than a few hours, it benefits from thawing slightly before serving to allow scooping. The sorbet keeps up to two weeks in the freezer.
For a variation, a cup of frozen raspberries can replace part of the mango to add a different berry flavor while maintaining the recipe's simplicity.
Ingredients
- 4 heaping cups Mango ~two 10-oz bags, frozen
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 Tbsp lime juice fresh
Instructions
- Place frozen mango in a food processor and pulse until you achieve small shreds. Scrape down the sides and add the maple syrup and lime juice. Mix again until food processor begins to run smoothly, scraping down the sides as needed. Once there are very few mango pieces visible, leave the processor on for at least 1 minute to achieve the creamiest consistency possible!
- Enjoy immediately! Alternatively, for a firmer sorbet, transfer to a sealed container and place in the freezer for 2-3 hours, or until ready to serve. If freezing for more than a few hours, remove and thaw for about 10-15 minutes for easy scooping. Keeps in the freezer for up to 2 weeks!
Notes
- Substitute 1 cup of frozen mango with frozen raspberries to make a mango raspberry sorbet variation.
