Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the ranch seasoning, paprika, garlic powder, sugar, onion powder, and salt.
  2. Slice your tortillas into 6 or 8 equal pieces. Using a pizza cutter makes it easy to create evenly sized-pieces.
  3. Lightly spray the tortilla pieces with cooking spray and sprinkle with seasoning mix.
  4. Place the pieces in the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t overlap.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees F. Then, cook the doritos for 3 minutes at 350 F. Flip them over and cook for 2 more minutes.
  6. Take them out and put them on paper towels to cool.

Notes

  • You can use either corn or flour tortillas. Corn tortillas give you that classic Doritos texture, while flour tortillas offer a slightly softer crunch.
  • Preheating your air fryer makes a big difference. I usually preheat mine for about 3 minutes at 350 degrees F before adding the tortilla pieces.
  • Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. The chips need space to crisp up properly. If you have a lot of tortilla pieces, cook them in batches.
  • A light cooking oil spray helps the seasoning stick to the chips and gives them a nice, even coating. I prefer olive oil spray, but any neutral cooking spray will work.
  • Let the chips cool completely before storing them so they stay crispy.
  • Experiment with different seasonings, like Cajun spices, cayenne pepper, or grated parmesan.
